The blue bird wrought iron steel pole has two holes in the upper shaft for mounting the bird house or feeder. The 2 piece design is very functional because it's easy to remove the top portion of the bird house pole for quick clean out at the end of nesting season. The house does not need to be removed from the upper shaft for cleaning.
